1/72 Fine Molds Y-wing by Defibulator 1/72 Fine Molds Y-wing by Defibulator
My recently finished Y-wing, painted using an airbrush. This is the first time that I have used an airbrush on a model, and am pleased with the results. I cannot believe that I waited so long to use one. I weathered the ship with my standard dry brushing techniques. I have not yet painted the stand, though I will probably do it in the same style as that on my X-wing.

That is the most beautiful Y-wing model I've ever seen. The fine detail in all aspects, the proportions, the outstanding paint job...
I now remember why the Y-wing was my favorite out of all Star Wars ships.
I salute you!

NICE! I always have liked making this ship in Lego form.. and then destroying it to make something else.. I love all the wires and pipes! and you did a GREAT paint job to go along with it's sculpt!

What are your standard dry brushing techniques?

I mix colours to get the one that I desire and using a tissue paper wipe off the paint until the paint on the brush is dry. I then go over the entire model, or over those areas that I want to have a certain effect, until I get the desired look. I hope that helps :)
